Corporate Website Redevelopment Works

Decision Maker: Section 73 Officer

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

he corporate and transport websites require modernisation to enhance accessibility and engagement for customers and partners. It is essential to publicise and highlight the services and support offered by SYMCA, including its distinction as the first IZ in the UK. A revamped website should be user-friendly, enabling potential businesses to easily navigate and access vital information, facilitating informed decisions about relocating to South Yorkshire and driving the region's economic growth. Additionally, the transport site, which has not been reviewed in over ten years, needs a comprehensive overhaul. Modernising this site will better engage the travelling public through modern technologies, making public transport more appealing and convenient.

Redeveloping the SYMCA corporate websites is essential for several compelling reasons.
1. It enhances user experience by implementing modern, responsive design that adapts seamlessly to various devices, improving accessibility and engagement.
2. Collapse as many SYMCA sites as possible into two entities: a corporate site and a public transport site
3. The redevelopment can significantly boost site performance, including faster load times and improved navigation, which is critical for retaining visitors and improving search engine rankings. Additionally, incorporating the latest security measures protects against cyber threats and safeguards sensitive corporate and customer data. Lastly, a refreshed website can integrate advanced functionalities such as e-commerce capabilities, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and interactive features, facilitating better customer interaction and driving business growth.
