Richard Gould

Richard Gould is a senior leader with a career spanning twenty-five years in engineering and manufacturing, currently serving as the Sales Director for MetLase Ltd. MetLase, a Rolls-Royce Plc spin-out, is now wholly owned by the Unipart Group and specialises in designing and producing digital and mechanical manufacturing systems to drive significant productivity improvements for their clients.

A qualified Engineer, Richard's professional journey has predominantly revolved around commercial roles, where he's leveraged his expertise to generate growth through the application of cutting-edge technologies like 3D printing and digital manufacturing solutions. He has developed effective collaborations with government entities such as Innovate UK, the Aerospace Technology Institute, and the High-Value Manufacturing Catapult network.

Richard holds roles in regional organisations. As the Chair of the Freemen's Committee of the Company of Cutlers in Hallamshire, the long-established organisation that acts as the voice of manufacturing for the South Yorkshire Region. Additionally, he serves as the Chair of the Advisory Board for the Yorkshire and Humber Region's Made Smarter program, the UK's industrial digitalization initiative.

Born and raised in Sheffield, Richard is deeply connected to his roots and currently resides here with his family. He is passionate for the South Yorkshire region with a desire to see it prosper for the benefit of all. In his leisure time, Richard enjoys being with his family, dog walking, and mountain biking in the Peak District.
